It's been a long time coming but I finally quilted my Jumbo Granny quilt.
It is made out of 5 inch charms from a Japanese fabric swap and measures just over 36 inches square.
I used a faux linen type fabric for the back ground squares.
Here is the proof! It was a big mess, but I'll get better, right?
I bound it in a dark brown solid and used my no-fail machine binding method. I'm telling you, it is the only way to go for kid's quilts and if you use a matching thread you can't even see it. This was originally going to be Becca's baby quilt, but then I was over it and decided to give it as a baby shower gift. (The shower is tonight, that is why it is done!) But now I am starting to like it again... I guess I have one hour to decide if I need to run to the store and pick up another gift! ;)
But for sure the mom to be will be getting this set of burp cloths with elephants on them.
I haven't forgotten about my other QuiltCon posts, but it might be a bit before I post. Have a great weekend!
oh it looks terrific!

ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks fantastic! Also, I absolutely adore elephants :)
ReplyDeleteHooray for another finish! This looks great--who cares about straight quilting lines when you are snuggled up in the quilt? The important thing is that it is done!
